Many people like working with us directly. This actually includes a significant number of clients disappointed in their local travel agents' "packaged" offerings. But there are others who prefer to plan their entire trip, from airline tickets right down to the smallest details, through their local travel agent, without having to deal with two or three different companies. Some clients just don't trust the internet, while others prefer face-to-face contact with a "live" travel agent. Today, more selective clients are often willing to spend a little more money for a creative, interesting and reliable personal itinerary or high quality group tour. Added Flexibility
Specialty travel is the wave of the future, but few travel agents offer anything more than generic tours or discounted airline tickets (with the airlines paying ever smaller commissions). While a few scheduled Sicily tours (such as ours) are exceptional, very few travel agents are in a position to offer these, let alone anything more specialized. Yet, from the beginning, we have seen that many of the folks who commission us for personalized planning services are travel agents acting on behalf of their own clients. They enjoy having an outsource of support services here in Sicily that permits genuine flexibility in the choices they make available to their clients. Tours and Agent Commissions
While some of our scheduled luxury tours of Sicily, including our famous Sicilian cooking tours, are intended for promotion directly to clients (actually avoiding local travel agents), we often receive special requests from travel agents who would like to include a few of their clients in one of these unique tours. Is this possible, they ask, and do we pay the standard agency commissions? The answer to both questions is yes, absolutely! If you read about us, we're sure that you'll like our open approach to doing business with you. And your clients will love the tour! We're quite flexible with this. Our only conditions for establishing a working relationship are that you must be legally authorised to act as a travel agent or travel service reseller where your business is based, and your company must have a website or other published material describing your firm. (Email us for details.) In most cases, however, the commissions are not "fixed,quot; as you'll simply "rebrand" a tour we plan exclusively for your clientele, establishing your own profit margin.

A Competitive Edge
So, while many of our services are oriented toward individuals or smaller groups interested in independent travel (a growing trend that travel agents must address if they are to be competitive), we can help you find good, reliable vacation possibilities for your more demanding clients. Rates are comparable to those described on our planning page. Unlike most travel agencies, we don't rely on commissions from hotels and other vendors. For personal itinerary planning, a working relationship that functions well is that we suggest an itinerary and you book the lodging directly, if you prefer. We charge a flat fee for itinerary planning, based on the research and work involved (length of the stay, etc.), with payment conditions identical to those offered to individual clients. This offers the advantage that you know precisely how much you're spending for our services. And since we're easy to contact, your client will have the added security of on-site support here in Sicily. If, instead, your client wants to join one of our scheduled tours or prefers to choose other options, that's a possibility, too. As an "incoming tour operator" (a rather generic term we've never grown accustomed to), Simply Sicily is a priceless resource. We're affiliated with several international travel agent organizations, including ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents).
